Korean dishes you must try in Seoul

1. Banchan

This word refers to small plates that are served as starters. You may not even have to order them, as they are usually included with the meal.

Expect to find, among others, kimchi (read on), namul (bean sprouts sautéed with sesame oil) or oi muchim (spicy cucumber salad).



2. Kimchi

If there is a famous Korean food in the whole world, it is kimchi. This sauerkraut dish is the star of Korean cuisine, as well as being very rich in probiotics, which promote digestion and provide many other health benefits. You will find it in all restaurants, so be sure to try it in at least one of its forms, such as cucumbers stuffed with kimchi, dongchimi (also known as ("water kimchi") or kkakdugi (kimchi made with minced radishes).

 

 

 

3. Haemul pajeon

A seafood pancake may not sound entirely appetizing, but imagine this dish as a savory crêpe made from seafood - delicious! The base is the scallop pancake, and it is usually garnished with a combination of prawns, squid, clams, oysters and mussels accompanied by soy sauce.



 

4. Japchae

Even the pickiest of foodies like this Korean dish! This noodle-based dish is the most special, since the noodles themselves are made from sweet potato paste. They are usually sautéed with vegetables, sesame oil, soy sauce and pork or beef, although you can also order the vegetarian version without problem.

 

5. Bibimbap

This colorful dish gives a thousand turns to the typical rice bowl. Bibimbap is perhaps the easiest dish to find in Western countries, and it features white rice, chili paste, soybean paste, beef, and a fried egg. It is served still hot and you have to mix everything before you start eating. Normal that raises passions!



Angela Aguilar's Favorite Food

 


The young singer of traditional Mexican music is a case of tenderness.

 

Food is quite a topic. Mexican lover, Ángela explains that she loves to eat tacos in all their presentations and is even quite picky when it comes to preparing the perfect taco.

 

"The steak taco I put a single tortilla, two tortillas take away the flavor of the meat, I put coriander, green sauce, lemon and, if they have onion that is super roasted, I put it on them", Angela explains in an interview for Bandamax.

 

For the young singer, there are other Mexican dishes that also fascinate her, such as chicken flutes and the stew called "asado de boda", a traditional dish that is served as an offering by the groom for the bride's family.

 

However, when it comes to international food, Aguilar not only does not stop but lists the various dishes that his palate savors with enthusiasm.

MEXICAN GASTRONOMY: PRIDE AND TRADITION

Mexican cuisine is renowned for the delight that palates experience.

Not only the flavor or color of the spices and herbs that give the final touch to these meals are essential, the way in which these succulent dishes are prepared is vital to make it worthy of this Mexican country.

The set of typical Mexican dishes has been declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity, since there is a wide variety of flavors, so we leave you this list so that you know the foods that make the Aztec people proud.


Pozole

This succulent pre-Hispanic broth was created in Cuernavaca, the main ingredient is corn and depending on the region you are in, the type of meat that is going to accompany it is added, it can be pork, chicken or beef. The pozole consists of cooking the cacahuacintle, which is a large grain corn, then the meat is added and to finish rich complementary seasonings that give the delicious flavor to this great dish such as: radishes, lettuce, avocado and of course not the chili should be missing either in sauce or powder.

 


Chiles en nogada

This exquisite Mexican representative descends from Puebla, it is said that he was created by Augustinian nuns from the Santa Monica Convent to celebrate the Independence of Mexico. Its colors and striking presentation make it the fundamental dish of this nation. It consists of poblano chili with a rich beef or pork filling accompanied by fruits, while the sauce that covers it is made from walnuts. When serving, the plate is decorated with parsley and pomegranate to represent the colors of the Mexican flag.



 

Mole

One of the most exotic dishes in Mexico, which is another creation from Puebla, is characterized by having various types of chili, spices and seeds that are ground into metates and molcajetes. This preparation is a complement to a dish that has meat, since mole is the sauce that accompanies it. It is recognized worldwide for the extraordinary ingredients with which it is made and that its preparation has become an admirable tradition. Another star protagonist in mole is cocoa that gives it a sweet touch.

 

Enchiladas

 In any country in the world they will be able to tell you that they know enchiladas, this unmissable dish goes around the world and is an innate representative of our country. It is originally from San Luis Potosí and consists of the famous corn tortillas, stuffed with beef, chicken or pork and cheese. As a delicious complement, sauce of different types of chili, beans, cheese, cream is added on top and it is accompanied with lettuce, onion or avocado. There are several types of enchiladas, it depends on the type of sauce you put on it, but the flavor is definitely extraordinary.


Mexico prides itself on the gastronomic roots that our ancestors have inherited from us.
